Mrs. Grace Djan is the founder, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Consultant of Valuation & Investment Associates.   She has extensive real estate consulting and functional experience acquired from the various responsibilities and assignments she has performed over the past 32 years.

Specifically, she has several years’ experience in private and public sector real estate and property valuation, housing and property administration and management experience.

Grace holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Housing, Planning and Building from the Bouwcetrum International Education Rotterdam, Netherlands and an alumnus of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, graduating in 1972 with a B.Sc. (Hons) in Land Economy.

She was professionally certified as a Valuation and Estate Surveyor in 1974 by the Ghana Institution of Surveyors, and in 1979, elevated as a Fellow of the Ghana Institution of Surveyors.  Grace became a full member of the Federation of International Surveyors in 1998.

She started her working life with the Tema Development Corporation (TDC) as an Assistant Estate Officer in 1972, by the time she was leaving the TDC in 1985, had risen to the position of acting Chief Estates Officer of the Estate Department.  Her legacy included developing the concept of building houses in condominium (flats) and inviting the private sector into housing delivery in Tema. She spearheaded the selling of some rental units to sitting tenants to reduce the Corporation’s maintenance budget.  Years after leaving TDC, she was appointed a member of the Board of Directors of the TDC between 2004 to 2008.

Grace was one of the key property consultants on Ghana’s divestiture program.  Corporations she advised on the value of their fixed assets include Ghana National Trading Corporation (GNTC), Bonsa Tyre Company Limited, Ghana Rubber Estates Limited, GIHOC Paints Company, Continental Hotel (now Golden Tulip Hotel), State Fishing Corporation, Tema Shipyard and Drydock Corporation, Meridian Hotel, Produce Buying Company, Sanyo Ghana Ltd, among others.

She has led in the assets valuation of some financial institutions for incorporation into their financial statements.  These include Ghana Commercial Bank, Agricultural Development Bank, Ecobank Ghana Limited, Bank of Ghana, Social Security and National Insurance Trust and State Insurance Company.

Grace has also undertaken appraisal for the hospitality industry, key facilities she has coordinated fixed assets valuation include the Holiday Inn Hotel, the former Ambassador Hotel, former Ringway Hotel, Alisa Pegasus Hotel, Mensvic Place, Mahogany Hotel, Airside Hotel, Ell-King Hotel, Accra City Hotels Limited (Novotel Hotel), and many more budget hotels.

Under project management, she has management teams to undertake valuations in the transport sector for Ghana Port and Habours (Takoradi Harbour), Intercity STC (Ghana, Cote D’ivoire and Benin), Ghana Civil Aviation Authority, Ghana Airport Company Limited, Metro Mass Transit Limited, OSA Limited, and currently heading a team of Consultants valuing the assets of Ghana Railway Company.

Her experience in the valuation of manufacturing and processing facilities include the fixed assets valuation of Cocoa Processing Company, Aluworks Limited, Ferro Fabrik Limited, Coca Cola Bottling of Ghana Company Limited and Pioneer Aluminium Factory.

Grace has coordinated property management and valuation in the real estate sector, agriculture, education and energy.
